MicroInfluencers are one of the fastest growing demographics when it comes to how brands are investing in Influencer Marketing.
Influencer Marketing isn’t a new concept. In fact, it is what public relations is built on -- the promotion of a product, person or service based on the conversations about that product, person or service by others who are deemed to be experts in a given field or market.
Social Media democratized the process by allowing any human being to become an expert by virtue of the fact that they have access to the Internet.

That’s where the MicroInfluencer Academy comes in.
6boro Social has an influencer database that is open to the public as well as custom influencer databases based on niche + location (such as real estate agents in Hudson County) but The MicroInfluencer Academy is an application-based, invite-only community that is free to join but requires that the influencer give 6boro Social ten percent (10%) of any influencer deals made while they are Academy members and for 6 months after their Academy membership ends. They are allowed to leave the Academy at any time but they cannot access the resources provided to Academy members once they do.
Members of the Academy will be invited by vertical and location as there will only be ONE expert from each vertical niche in each location in the Academy. For example, if there are two interior designers who wish to join from Manhattan, only one will claim the Manhattan spot for their Influencer Level in all levels under 250,000 followers. Above 250,000 followers, there will be an unlimited number of experts per vertical niche.
Influencer Levels range from:
Under 10,000 followers
10,000 - 30,000 followers
30,000 - 50,000 followers
50,000 - 250,000 followers
250,000 - 500,000 followers
The Microinfluencer Academy provides members with:
Weekly email trainings that link to on-demand group courses on marketing fundamentals, e-commerce best practices and how to monetize their brand from day one
A video tutorial library on setting up Shopify Stores, Squarespace sites, Instagram Catalogs and the ability to vote on new tutorials on a quarterly basis
Promotion with group outreach by 6boro Social to brands and sponsors
Offers from 6boro Social clients before they are broadcast to the public
The MicroInfluencer Academy is the first of its kind because it not only vets the influencer using industry-standard tools like Fohr.co, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Google Analytics, it also requires an in-person (or Skype) interview with a member of 6boro Social’s Influencer Marketing team.
The Academy will charge brands and sponsors 10% of their advertising budget to access influencers. The level of influencer available for access will depend on the advertising budget of the brand or sponsor to allow every brand and sponsor an opportunity to work with an influencer no matter their budget.

A MicroInfluencer is someone with 1,000 to 100,000 followers. A NanoInfluencer is someone with less than 1,000 followers.
